After many years skiing in some of France's well known purpose built resorts it made a pleasant change to find Les Carroz hidden in the Grand Massif ski area ( 265 kms of piste). Even with recent expansion it still maintains it's village atmosphere and provides a different skiing experience from the usual French resorts. Don't expect a wild week as there is only one nightclub and a couple of lively bars. Instead you will find a relaxed easy going atmosphere with many restaurants to choose from all at realistic prices. Easy linked access to the Grand Massif ski areas from Les Carroz or further up the mountain towards Flaine The summer can be very warm with great walks or cycle routes. Les Carroz and the surrounding area can also offer many other activities including fishing,canyoning,tennis,golf and horse riding to name but a few or just relax and use as a base to visit the many beautiful towns like Annecy and Yvoire. Chamonix and Mont Blanc are also nearby. Italy is approximately 1 hour away. |
